Worthys Conservation Volunteers work around the villages known as The Worthys, to the north of Winchester.

Nature in Portsmouth and Havant by John Goodspeed covers various local groups and wildlife topics, including information on the Portsdown Hill Conservation Volunteers.

Working on a Woodland Trust reserve north of Waterlooville are the Park Wood group.

The Havant Conservation Action Project promotes the activities of a dozen groups in the Havant area.

Basingstoke Conservation Volunteers do similar work to HCV in the north of Hampshire.
Near Aldershot are Friends of Brickfields Park

Conservation groups in the north-east of the county have formed the Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership. The site gives details of groups and events.

Over the border into Berkshire are Berkshire Conservation Volunteers and
Greenham and Crookham Conservation Volunteers who work on Greenham Common near Newbury.

International Things

Besides giving HCV lots of jobs, Peter Potts of Hampshire County Council has been closely involved with an international project to restore water mills. The English part of the venture centred on Waltham Chase Mill near Bishops Waltham in Hampshire. For a comprehensive description, see the International Mills site. Our regular visits to Goswell Brook on the Beaulieu Estate are for the Countryside Education Trust. We sometimes stay at their well-equipped Out of Town Centre on our residential weekends.
